By Scruffy City Construction · Published October 27, 2026
Your land. Your vision. Your home, built right.
Building a home starts with understanding how you want to live. The layout, natural light, storage, outdoor spaces and everyday details should work together around your family.
Scruffy City Construction is a veteran-owned construction company serving Greater Knoxville. We help homeowners turn their new construction goals into a defined scope, coordinated project and home built around their priorities.
Start With a Plan for Your Property
Whether you already own land or are considering a lot, involve your builder early. Site access, grading, utility connections, drainage and the foundation can all affect your construction budget.
Before choosing finishes, start with the essentials:
- Where you want to build.
- Your approximate home size and preferred layout.
- Your overall budget, including site work.
- The features that matter most to your family.
- Your desired construction timeline.
A useful planning conversation considers the entire project so you can make informed decisions from the beginning.
